Faith At His Feet

Hi to all of my #TranformationTrendsetters!!!

We are well off into the New Year on this 17th day of January. I pray you all are still experiencing the happiness and newness of 2015!! What a blessing it is to be in the mix! God purposed us to be here. What an honor!! There’s greatness on the inside of you that he MUST get out!! What a privilege to be a mere thought in the plans of God in this season! Whew! I get excited just thinking about it!! /

By now, I would assume you all have created your New Years resolutions and you are being very strategic about sticking to them. I hope all is going well and God will see you through as you put your faith to work with His. As for me, I didn’t make any New Year’s resolutions. I didn’t decree and declare that I would lose weight, eat healthier, or go to the gym five times a week.

Nope, not at all. I thought God would send His angel Gabriel to impregnate me with this “big” idea. I thought that I would have this quiet moment with him where I would be slain in the spirit for hours taking notes on what the Holy Spirit would tell me to do. AND…WELL… none of that happened! By December 31st, to be honest, I was a little disappointed. When the clock struck midnight and that 4 turned into a 5, after the 2-0-1 I said to myself, well God, so it shall be.

If you don’t give me anything for 2015 I will continue in the way I know:

1. In the instructions you’ve already given in 2014

2. In the Word of God

And so, I did just that… I went to the Word of God where he’s said A LOT!! He then instructed me to Luke chapter 10 verses 38-42.

After reading, in Luke, I noticed that the scriptures talk about two women who love Jesus and who were eager to serve him, but only one of them recognized the gift. Only one of them knew the importance of God being in their home. Only one of them had their priorities in order.

See, Martha was busy with the details! Cooking, cleaning, baking, dusting, and tidying up the home, but Mary was sitting at Jesus’ feet. Both women loved Jesus, but Mary had found the good part. According to Mary, nothing else mattered when Jesus entered the house. She knew that there was something in his mouth she needed to hear for the journey ahead and nothing was going to get in her way, or distract her from receiving it.

My Dear Trendsetters,

This blog is to encourage you that the only thing that will last in 2015, is the time that you spend with Jesus. See, the food was going to be eaten up, the furniture would get dusty again, and the floor would need another mop after about a week, but when God deposits greatness on the inside of you, NO ONE, can take that away!! His promises are ye and amen and Mary was well aware of that.

Don’t get so caught up in doing the work of God that you miss out on the presence of God. (I posted this quote on my Instagram, Twitter, and FaceBook pages today. You all INSPIRE me!) OK, back to the blog. Lol!

The bible says, “But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here and does all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” (Luke 10:40 NLT)

How many of us are distracted by something “big” that we want to happen this year? We’re pursuing a degree, we desire a new house, car, or piece of property. We’re overwhelmed by the details of where we will attend college, make our next “big” job move, or new business venture… and God is saying, “My dear Martha (insert your name here), you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discover it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Friends, this is my prayer in 2015 – that NOTHING, I mean absolutely NO ONE will distract you from God’s presence. He will meet all of your needs and instruct you along the path that you should take. Don’t get so caught up in the details of this year, that you miss what’s really important! Focus on Him! NOT what your friends, co-workers, family members, social media followers are doing. See, Martha thought her sister was just sitting, but she was fooled by her posture. No, no, Martha, I have news for you. Your sister, Mary, wasn’t just sitting. She was in a place of SURRENDER!  Hallelujah, I get happy just thinking about it! /

Sure, it’s OK to make goals. There’s no problem, with making resolutions, but when your goals New Years resolutions, and what others are doing becomes your focus, then that becomes a problem. NO living or dead thing should take the place of your God. Why? Because purpose will NEVER be taken away from you and THAT’S what God desires from you in this season.

Don’t be distracted, derailed, or deterred by the details. Your destiny is calling! Recognize God’s presence and stay there. He has so much to tell you. So many instructions to give you. So much you need to know that only your ears were created to hear. Make time for Him TODAY. Your next move is in moments of worship!

 Let’s us pray:

Father God in the name of Jesus, thank you for your Word that leads, guides, and instructs us when we don’t know our way. Thank you for caring that much about us to leave us an instruction manual to guide everyone of our footsteps along this Christian journey. We thank you for your shed blood and preparing us for what’s ahead. Help us not to focus on this year, but on YOU! As we make time for you, we trust that you will take care of everything else that we need. We rebuke Satan who would try to distract us from our destiny by reminding us of the details. We thank you that he is already defeated! In Jesus name, amen!

On another note: After God gave me this blog about a week ago, I’ve had time to reflect on my own priorities. I’ve been praying, fasting, and thinking about what are distractions in my own life. In doing so, I’ve found I’ve placed too much on my plate to be fully effective in the Kingdom of God. I’ve found that some things will lack when life is not balanced. I’ve found that I can’t give all of my time to everything, but to my EVERYTHINGS ( husband, children, family, God) I will give all of my time!

In short, I do believe I am going to do away with the monthly studies this year that I began doing last June with a video. As life continues to move forward, I will fail at many things if I don’t become loyal and focused on THE one thing…

I love you all and I love #CT and #TT. I still plan to post a blog every month, but being consistent in posting a new study at the beginning of every month is something I don’t want to focus on this year. I’ve learned that God gives me insight and wisdom to post when he says to post and when he doesn’t, I won’t. I don’t want you all depending on something that I am not able to give.

My plans for this year are to be more in tune with God, my home life, my husband, and our two sons, John and James. In addition, becoming the BEST School Guidance Counselor that I could possibly be AND assist our teachers by helping them in the process of developing our future leaders. All the while, serving on my school’s Leadership Team, and as one of our Student Ministry Leaders at church. I will continue to teach bible study every Wednesday night, and seek God for my ministry, Caterpillars Transformed! Ya’ll pray for me!! Lol! This year is going to be EPIC!!

ALSO, I am also happy to announce that I am currently in the process of writing my second book that prayerfully will come out by the end of this year. YAY!!!!!

As you can see, 2015 is full for me, BUT what I found last year was that to do all these things that I have set out to do, spending time with God is IMPERATIVE! Which means, I will have and NEED moments of quiet time, and seasons of stillness throughout the year. With that said, I am determined to take on the role of Mary and encourage Martha to do the same – without the distractions.

Thanks in advance for understanding… I LOVE, LOVING YOU ALL!!

Until next month,

Cecelia Simon
